CIFA CIFA JOINS UNACEA
Strengthens representation of the concrete
machinery sector

CIFA Unacea's membership drive takes an important step forward as CIFA, a corporate leader in the production of concrete machinery, becomes a member. Says Davide Cipolla, CEO of CIFA, “We decided to join Unacea because we agree that a unified association is needed for all construction equipment. We need specific representation for the entire trade that's capable of reacting to impetus from the industry, reflecting it and its pragmatic style, so that the sector has a clear voice in Italy and Europe. We've watched the birth of Unacea and seen it grow by fundamentally adopting these values; we've appreciated its operating efforts in networking with the institutions and various stakeholders in the sector. We've been participating in Unacea's statistical system for about a year now, which has made it possible to assess the sector and monitor market trends, at the same time guaranteeing appropriate confidentiality to the companies within the system. We now hope that all other concrete machinery companies who have not yet joined will initiate contact with the association in order to work together on developing a new calendar of activities to support the sector and combat the current recession.”

Cifa was established in 1928, employs a total of over 650 workers, and produces trailer-mounted pumps, truck-mounted pumps, truck mixer-pumps, concrete mixer trucks, concrete batching plants and shotcrete machinery. Present in almost 70 countries worldwide, in addition to its headquarters in Senago (MI), it has three other production units, one in Senago, one in Castiglione delle Stiviere (MN), and one in Zanica (BG).

Adds Enrico Santini, President of Unacea: “CIFA's decision to join, following that of Imer Group and Simem, to mention only the concrete machinery sector, is an affirmation of our motto, 'competitive on the market, together for the industry.' Unacea has now greatly expanded its sphere of representation compared to its initial core group, which was based on earthmoving equipment. Now it will be our task to intensify activities on all fronts to provide the sector with as many useful tools as possible in order to combat the recession and protect production know-how and jobs.”

In this regard, Unacea is also looking forward to governmental promotion in terms of developing its proposals to encourage the safety and environmental technologies that the sector produces and sells.
