ALSO SIMEM JOINS UNACEA
The number of concrete batching equipment companies is growing

Thanks to Simem, Unacea, the Italian construction equipment association, takes a new step forward towards a unitary representation of the sector. "The world has changed – declares Federico Furlani, Simem CEO – and the firms that are keeping up with it are those that make innovation their raison d'être. Similarly, we need a trade association agile, adverse to bureaucracy, representing all construction equipment companies and acting as a critical mass to pursue our common interests. We need an association that shares the same values and 'anthropological' profile as the firms it represents and that enhances the entrepreneurs' centrality and leadership. These are the reasons that have led us to bet on Unacea."

Simem is one of the main producers of concrete batching plants on the market. Its product range includes stationary, mobile and recycling plants, as well as mixers. The firm employs 150 operators in the production plants at Minerbe (Verona) and another 100 in its overseas branches in Abu Dhabi, Brazil, Canada, India and the United States; moreover, it has a sales network that covers around 40 countries worldwide. Simem closed 2010 with a turnover of 34 million euros (compared to 22 million in 2009) and an export rate of 85%.

Thanks to this new important participation and to the presence of other concrete machinery companies inside Unacea, the association intends to extend the activities devoted to this sector. It has already started such activities by carrying out statistical surveys of truck mixers, truck mixer-pumps, truck mounted pumps and concrete batching plants.
