2011: AN YEAR TO LIVE INTENSELY
Unacea gives some advance information on its plan of activities. The Construction equipment day will be launched next July.
On the wave of the number of firms that have become, or will become shortly, new members of the association, also thanks to the relationships established during the Samoter in Verona, Unacea's board of directors, who met during the trade fair, has defined a dense schedule that will make it possible to take another important step forward to strengthen and unify the representation of construction equipment companies in Italy. 
After the collective participation in BC India and the organisation of FOR-SAFETY, the training courses on the safe use of construction equipment that have just taken place, Unacea continues its action to enlarge membership at Conexpo in Las Vegas (22-26 March), an exhibition for which many Italian manufacturers are already at the starting line. Shortly afterwards there is Intermat Middle East in Abu Dhabi (28-30 March), where Unacea promotes a joint pavilion of Italian firms. The success of Techna, the mailing list where Unacea's members can ask for technical advice and receive answers from experts thanks to the collaboration of Eco Certificazioni, has induced the association's councillors to increase the technical support activities in the building yard and the coupling between machine and attachment. Also scheduled are new initiatives to train construction machines operators and to promote the safe use of truck mixers. Moreover, Unacea will continue to put pressure on ministries to create a registry of construction equipment in order to fight against non-compliant machines and to study incentives to encourage the use of new generation, safe and eco-friendly machines. Furthermore, the Italian construction equipment industry will be mapped and segmented in detail through the analysis of turnovers that Unacea is carrying out with Cribis. An increasing number of firms is taking part in the statistics on the market of earthmoving, road and concrete machinery through Simon, a software that offers to all types of construction equipment the possibility to obtain free of charge statistical data on the Italian market, safeguarding the confidentiality of company data.
Finally, also the programme of the Construction equipment day – a public event devoted to the main technical and market issues of the sector – has been defined. It will take place together with Unacea's annual meeting in July.
